My Invisible Crown Really you say?  Absolutely!!  These things are so amazing there really aren’t words to describe.  I had them once at a county fair in Houston and was never able to get them out of my mind.  I love sweets.  You’ll probably find more sweets on here than anything else although I am going to try to keep it balanced. You see, balance is something I feel very strongly about.  I think all things require balance.  Here’s a small example.  Let’s take your relationship with your friends.  If you spend no time at all with your friends, your life is put off balance and greatly missing something very important.  However, if you spend all your time with your friends or even too much time with your fiends then other things in your life can suffer.  The same applies to work, or even your marriage.  Call me crazy but when you have a healthy balance in your life things work so much more smoothly.

Anyway, deep fried Oreos.  I am a big Oreo fan but not so much a deep fried anything fan but this is the exception.  I mean I like fried chicken although I never fry it myself.  I’m not anti-fried foods but not crazy about them either.  The Oreos though are awesome!  They aren’t too messy and the kids almost swallowed them whole.  You could even play around with different varieties.  I used original and the new sherbet flavored ones.

My Invisible Crown The decision was split down the middle on which were better.  The one thing I will say is they must be eaten immediately.  This isn’t really a good party food unless you want to be standing over a fryer for a while and that would be a no for me.

 

  • 1 1/2 cups Busquick
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 2 Tablespoons oil
  • 1 Tablespoon butter, melted
  • 1 Bag Oreos of your choice
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Mix together first five ingredients until blended well.  It should be thick.  Actually the thicker the better so that it sticks to the cookie.  Heat the oil in a fryer or pan to 375.  Dunk cookies in batter then drop in hot oil and cook, turning until you have a golden brown color.  The longer you cook the gooier the cookie on the inside will be.  Remove from oil and drain.  Serve with powdered sugar sprinkled or regular sprinkles or glitter sugar or chocolate sauce and ice cream…really anything that makes you happy.  I hope you like them as much as I do.  Enjoy!!

  1. Sorry. Probably a dumb question, but is there a substitute for Bisquick? Can’t get that “over here.” The picture makes me want to ask Nina to make this recipe right now….at 9:39 AM! My commitment to fitness is already waning.

    • Does she make biscuits now from scratch? I can find her a scratch recipe and that will work just as well I am sure. it doesn’t come out tasting like a biscuit wrapped around an Oreo at all. They are phenomenal. I would often sit and dream about them after the first time I had them In Texas.

        • Wow! That made me smile for sure. I love them so much. I need to do a few different ways using all the different types if Oreo varieties. Can you imagine? I normally don’t fry things but you can’t really resist these! Please let me know if you get a good response? So glad you stopped by!
